These Malicious Android Apps can steal your Personal Data: Remove them immediately

Though the Google Play Store has several protection walls, some apps manage to bypass them and cause harm to our devices, such as mobile phones and tablets.

Digital Desk: In this digital age, we are all glued to various applications, be it for entertainment, sports, news, transfer of files, etc. Apps are easily available in the Google Play Store. Though the Google Play Store has several protection walls, some apps manage to bypass them and cause harm to our devices, such as mobile phones and tablets.

Malwarebytes Lab researchers discovered four such apps that contain hidden malware. These apps can lead to phishing activities that steal our data and personal information that we may not want to share with others. They make money by charging hackers a fee per click.

Phishing is the fraudulent practice of sending emails that appear to be from reputable companies to trick people into disclosing personal information such as passwords and credit card numbers.

The below-mentioned apps have a common developer and these mobile apps have over a million downloads. They are certified as safe on Google Play however, research done by cybersecurity experts says each app contains an "Android/Trojan.HiddenAds" line of code that starts injecting malicious activities after 72 hours of downloading to avoid any detection.

The apps are:

1. Bluetooth auto-connect
2. Driver: Bluetooth, wifi, USB
3. Bluetooth App Sender
4. Mobile Transfer: smart switch
