Twitter testing Search Subscribe feature that will send push notifications for search terms

Roussel's screenshots show the bell notification indicator on Twitter's mobile app's search bar.

Digital Desk: Twitter is working on a feature called
"Search Subscribe" that will allow users to receive push
notifications for new tweets that match a search query they choose,
    reports said
. Developer Dylan Roussel discovered the feature.
Roussel's screenshots show the bell notification indicator on Twitter's mobile
app's search bar. You can submit a search query and sign up for push
notifications when relevant tweets are made, according to Roussel.

    Roussel has
yet to get any notifications for the search queries to which he has subscribed.
This could be due to the fact that the feature is currently being developed and
is not yet operational. It has only been discovered in the most recent version
of Twitter Alpha. Twitter's own TweetDeck online client offers a similar
feature, allowing you to create a column for a certain search term.

    It's
probable that Twitter is testing Search Subscribe as a premium tool, following
reports that the company is considering making TweetDeck an exclusive function
for its paid Twitter Blue customers. Search Subscribe may be to Twitter what
Google Alerts is to Google Search.

Of course, because this is an Alpha feature, we can't be
certain when or even if it will be released. However, if it does, it might be quite
valuable for people who are interested in a specific specialised issue or topic
and want to be kept informed about new advancements in that field. The
mechanics of the function are also unclear because it isn't completely working
    yet.
