Digital Desk: People eat delicious pizzas, perhaps one of the world's most popular dishes, primarily to make up for a terrible day. Pizza Hut, an American international restaurant business, is now taking its dedication and enthusiasm for this Italian delicacy a step further by attempting to create the world's largest pizza.
According to Reuters, the record-breaking pizza will be 1,310 square metres in size and will feature more than 68,000 slices. It is now being assembled at the Los Angeles Conference Center in the United States, where an army of cooks is laying down vast swaths of dough, tomato sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
Because there is no oven large enough to accommodate such a massive pizza, the creators have opted to employ a cooking apparatus that moves over the pizza pieces and slowly cooks them.
According to Reuters, Pizza Hut president David Graves stated that no food will be wasted in this record-breaking attempt, as the pizza slices and any excess food supplies will be donated to local food banks after the record is certified.
Graves further remarked on his company's past with pizza and stated, "We (Pizza Hut) were the first to deliver a pizza, we were the first to take an order over the internet. We've always done something large and exciting. And so breaking the world record for the world’s largest pizza just felt like the right thing to do to celebrate bringing back our largest pizza.”
