America: American philanthropist Melinda French Gates and an American billionaire, MacKenzie Scott, donates $40 million to support gender equality projects on Thursday.
The four gender equality projects are associated with tech, higher education, caregiving and minority communities.
The schemes are the champions of The Equality Can't-Wait Challenge; a funding contest started in June 2020 to expand women's prestige and authority in the United States.
As per the statement published on Thursday by Lever for Change, an associate of the MacArthur Foundation that managed the challenge, the awardees, chosen from a pool of more than 500 nominations presented from crosswise the nation, will earn $10 million respectively.
Equality Can't-Wait will support Strengthening Women's Equity within Extending the Care Infrastructure, a design by a combination of groups operating on the societal observations of caregiving; Transforming the Face of Tech, an lead to grant women more possibilities in the tech field; Girls Inc.'s Project Accelerate, which strives to encourage young ladies through university and profession approach; and The Future is Indigenous Womxn, an action to promote companies controlled by Native American ladies.
The beneficiaries were selected as members of the Equality Can't-Wait Challenge entertained by Gates' investment firm Pivotal Ventures and Scott and her partner Dan Jewett and billionaire contributor Lynn Schusterman's foundation.
"We can break the patterns of history and advance gender equality, but we must commit to lifting up organizations, like the ones receiving awards today, that are ready to lift up women and girls," French Gates stated in a statement.
Scott supplemented the awardees are "strong teams working on the front lines and from within communities to help women build power in their lives and careers."
