Digital Desk: Israeli troops have struck the house of top Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza. The Israeli Defense Forces on Thursday shared a video of fighter jets bombing a house, which they claim is Ismail Haniyeh's.

As the leader of Hamas' political bureau, Haniyeh holds a prominent position inside the organization that oversees Gaza. Many nations recognize him as the leader of Hamas.

Israel asserts that Haniyeh's home was "used as terrorist infrastructure" and that senior Hamas figures met there to plan terror strikes against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.

According to the IDF, Israeli soldiers also discovered and demolished a weapons stockpile belonging to the Hamas naval forces that included firearms, explosives, and diving equipment.

In retaliation for the bombings on October 7, which claimed 1,200 lives, most of them civilians, Israel has pledged to destroy Hamas.

Approximately 240 people, including small children and the elderly, were also held captive by Hamas.

However, there are growing calls for a truce as the health ministry administered by Hamas, claims that over 11,500 people have died as a result of the offensive, including thousands of children.
