They seemed to include a test to see if the future queen was capable of having children. The unexpected assertion was made in a recent book, "Gilded Youth: An Intimate Account of Growing Up in the Royal Family," by author Tom Quinn, according to Hello Magazine. Quinn disclosed interesting details regarding the royal marriage.

    About the peculiar procedure, the author states: "They are always performed to guarantee that a future queen is capable of having children. There is little doubt that the marriage would not have worked out if Kate hadn't been fertile."

    According to a report in Hello Magazine, the book asserts that Princess Diana underwent the same medical examinations before her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.

    "In a brief interaction with the current author, Diana claimed that she had mistakenly believed her premarital check-ups had to do with general health and had discovered later that she had been tested for fertility. I went along with everything at that point because I was so innocent, she added. "In Westminster Abbey in London, on April 29, 2011, Prince William wed Kate Middleton. The wedding, for which a unique eight-tier cake was ordered and a national holiday was declared, was attended by about 1,900 guests.
