Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Abu Dhabi today for a day-long visit to the UAE, where he will meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and will review the two key allies' strengthening bilateral ties.

PM Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi after a successful two-day visit to Paris, where he served as the Guest of Honor at the Bastille Day parade and signed various agreements to strengthen ties with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with Sheikh Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

"I am looking forward to meeting my friend, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan," PM Modi said in his departing statement at the start of his two-nation visit.

"Our two countries are involved in a wide range of sectors such as trade, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defense, security, and strong people-to-people ties," he said.

PM Modi's visit to the UAE is anticipated to focus on energy, food security, and defense, with the two countries reviewing progress in bilateral relations following the signing of a significant trade agreement.

The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which gave a new impetus to the two countries economic involvement, was signed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

India and the UAE are involved in a variety of industries, including trade, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defense, security, and strong people-to-people ties.

The Indian expatriate community is the largest ethnic community in the UAE, accounting for nearly 30% of the country's population. According to UAE records, the number of resident Indian nationals is expected to reach 3.5 million in 2021.
