Ukraine Russia Crisis Updates: 4 dead in Russian strike on Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr
Digital Desk:  According to Anton Gerashchenko, a Ukrainian interior minister's assistant, four persons were murdered when homes in the Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr were hit by a Russian cruise missile intended at a nearby airbase on Tuesday.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that "high precision strikes" would be launched against Kyiv, and citizens were ordered to escape. Russia is preparing "high-precision strikes" on the "Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the 72nd Center for Information and Psychological Operations (PSO)" in Kyiv, according to a statement released by the defence ministry on Tuesday.

"We advise Ukrainian people who have been involved in provocation against Russia by Ukrainian nationalists, as well as Kyiv residents who live near relay stations, to flee their houses," the statement stated.

An Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv earlier on Tuesday. "With profound grief, we confirm that an Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv this morning," MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said. The Ministry has contacted his family.

"We send our heartfelt sympathies to the family," he wrote on Twitter. Naveen Shekharappa Gyanagoudar, 20, from Karnataka, has been identified as the student. At Kharkiv National Medical University, he was a fourth-year medical student.

As a large Russian military convoy approached Kyiv, Ukrainian authorities reported Tuesday that more than 70 Ukrainian servicemen had been killed by a Russian rocket attack and dozens more civilians had died in "barbaric" bombing.

According to the UN, since the Russian incursion began, at least 102 civilians, including seven children, have perished in Ukraine. On Tuesday, the Indian embassy in Kyiv issued an alert urging Indians to evacuate Kyiv as soon as possible by 'whatever means available.' Meanwhile, a troubled Ukraine made a symbolic attempt to strengthen its connections with the West by joining the European Union.
