London : How busy one can be to accidentally serve a diner a wine bottle which was worth Rs 4 Lakh, the customer turned out to be a lucky one.
As reported, the customer at the Manchester, England, branch of steak chain Hawksmoor, ordered a 2001 chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, which is listed at 260 pounds.
The busy night turned out to be lucky for the customer as a simple mistake was made by a member of staff who picked up the wrong bottle, mistaking it for Bordeaux of the same vintage.
The customer wasn’t aware of the fact that he was served a 4Lakh Rs wine, afterwards one of the managers picked up what happened.
It was later tweeted by the restaurant that the customer was accidentally given a bottle of Chateau Le Pin, Pomerol, 2001 and said hope he enjoyed the evening. Hawksmoor added to the member of staff who accidentally gave it away,” Chin up! One –off mistakes and we love you anyway,”
The restaurant also Tweeted a photo of the two wines side by side, saying “They look pretty similar OK?!” The Chateau Le Pin is the most expensive item on the menu list.
