Digital Desk: UK will get its new prime minister on Monday. Liz Truss is the front-runner to succeed Boris Johnson and lead the nation as it struggles with an escalating cost-of-living crisis.
After spending the summer gaining support from the Conservative Party members who cast the decisive vote, foreign minister Truss and her opponent, former finance minister Rishi Sunak, will announce the outcome at 12:30 pm (1130 GMT).
Upon winning, Truss will join Theresa May and Margaret Thatcher as the third female prime minister of the UK.

"Nothing should be ruled out. We actually have a serious emergency, you know. Anyone who denies that is the case is not being honest with the nation, in my opinion " he said.
Public support for an early general election is evident in polls, and the Conservatives' 12-year hold on office is under increasing pressure.
Truss held a number of ministerial positions in various areas, including education, international trade, and justice, before being appointed foreign minister a year ago.
She joined the center-left Liberal Democrats when she was a teenager before joining the right-wing Conservatives.
She started a campaign in 2016 to keep the UK in the EU but rapidly changed sides after the majority of Britons voted to leave.
She has been compared to Tory idol Thatcher because of her fashion style and fondness of photo ops, which included posing in a tank in Estonia and donning a fur hat in Moscow.
Her sometimes stiff style has become visibly more relaxed and allies have sought to soften her image, revealing her love of karaoke and socialising.
Scottish ceremony
A series of activities begin when Conservative Party officials reveal on Monday who will assume the position of leader.

The Queen will then officially accept his resignation before appointing his successor in a formal "kissing of hands" ceremony.
