Man addicted to Pepsi, drank 30 cans a day for 20 years
Since his addiction began in his twenties, he has consumed an estimated 219,000 cans of Pepsi, amounting to about 8,000 kilogrammes of sugar.

Digital Desk: A man was so addicted to Pepsi that he drank around 30 cans every day for at least 20 years. He spent over £7,000 (Rs 6.7 lakh) a year on this addiction—roughly £20 (Rs 1,900) daily.

As per Newsweek, 41-year-old Andy Currie of the United Kingdom downed a litre of fizzy drink every morning and drank a further nine litres a day.

Since his addiction began in his twenties, he has consumed an estimated 219,000 cans of Pepsi, amounting to about 8,000 kilogrammes of sugar.

"I've always loved the flavour of a cold Pepsi," Currie added. Nothing could compare to it, and I was immediately hooked. Because I work evenings, I need a sugar rush to keep me going. Every day, I'd go through four or five two-litre bottles of Pepsi. "

According to the outlet, he continued, "Because I work at Tesco, I could easily buy it directly after work and take it home."

He stated that the "money" he had spent on his favourite soft drink could have bought him a car every year. "I just needed it," he explained. "As soon as I woke up, I'd go to the fridge and pour myself a giant glass of Pepsi and go about my business."

After his weight reached 266 pounds and doctors informed him he was at risk of acquiring diabetes, Currie decided to take severe measures. He managed to shed 28 pounds through exercise and diet, but he couldn't quit drinking Pepsi.

According to the UK man, he then called London-based hypnotist and therapist David Kilmurry, who diagnosed Currie with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Currie was miraculously cured and was able to drink water for the first time in two decades following just one online session. According to Newsweek, he lost another 14 pounds in four weeks and is much healthier.

"I haven't touched them (Pepsi cans) in a month and don't plan to," Currie asserted. I'm starting to favour water. My wife Sarah feels my skin has improved and I have a lot more energy. "

On the other hand, David expressed his "horror" at the 41-year- old's soda consumption. He went on to say, "That was by far the worst sugar addiction I've ever heard of." The hypnotist further stated that this type of addiction is "very dangerous" and puts a lot of strain on the body's key organs.
