Islamabad: A day after the international court of justice ordered Pakistan to review the death sentence passed by the Pakistani military court against the Indian prisoner Kulbhushan Jadhav for his alleged “espionage” against Pakistan, now the Pakistan government has decided to grant consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav.
The Pakistani government Friday declared that Mr. Jadhav will be granted the right get in touch with the diplomats an officials in India.
“As a responsible state Pakistan has informed Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav of his rights under Article 36, paragraph 1(b) as per Vienna convention on consular access. The government will grant consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav as per the Pakistani laws, for which modalities are be worked out,” stated a press release from their office of the spokes person of the ministry of foreign affairs (MOFA).

Hours after the ICJ pronounced the diktat, India emphatically said that Pakistan needs to obey the ICJ. Pakistan can immediately grant consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav acting upon the multiple pending request on the matter from India, said a diplomatic source.
