Digital Desk: China announced additional tariffs on United States (US) goods from the previously announced 84% to 125%, the country's Finance Minister Lan Fo'an said on Friday. The US-China trade war intensified as China hit back after the US decided to hike tariffs on Chinese goods.
This move comes after the US imposed tariffs of 145% on Chinese goods.
Following constant pressure from the US has forced China to impose more tariffs on US goods.
In a statement, the Finance Ministry said that the US's decision to impose high tariffs on China seriously violates international and economic trade rules, basic economic laws, and common sense.
The statement added that China will resolutely counterattack and fight to the end.
China announced that it will raise tariffs to 125%, effective from April 12.
