    Mahakaleshwar Temple: Mahakal to dress as groom on March 2
    Digital Desk: Bhasma Aarti is conducted once a year in the afternoon at Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple. On the next day of Mahashivratri, Lord Mahakal appears as the groom, and bhasma aarti is conducted at 12:00 p.m. All preparations for the Mahashivratri celebration at Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple have been finished. Thousands of Shiva worshippers go to the Mahakaleshwar temple during the Mahashivratri festival. Preparations for the Mahashivratri celebration begin during the Shiva Navaratri festival, according to Ujjain Collector Ashish Singh. This year, in particular, 21 lakh lamps are being lit at the ghats, which has sparked a lot of excitement among Shiva enthusiasts.

    In comparison to previous year, efforts have been made for more devotees to attend this time. The Mahakaleshwar temple complex is being expanded as well. Devotees are eagerly waiting to take a glimpse of the magnificient temple and the deity . On the occasion of the Mahashivratri festival, Moolchand Junwal, Assistant Administrator of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee, stated that religious traditions are being observed along with legislation.

    Mahakal would provide ongoing darshan for 48 hours at Ujjain.

    Mahashivratri programme March 1 (Tuesday)

    1.  March 1 2022 Mahakal temple's doors will open from 2:30 am on Tuesday.

    2. Bhasma Aarti will take place at 3:00 a.m.

    3. Mangala Aarti will take place at 8:00 a.m.

    4. On Mahashivratri, Baba Mahakal will give darshan in formless form.

    5. The water stream to be offered to lord Shiva will last for the whole day.

    6. The official puja will be held at 12:00 pm.

    7. At 5:00 pm, official puja on behalf of the Government of Madhya Prades will be offered.

    8. The evening aarti will be held at 7:00 pm.

    9. Official Puja of the District Administration at 12:00 am.


    Note - On March 1, there will be no sleep aarti. 

    Religious programme dated March 2 (Wednesday)

    1. Night awakening.

    2. Sehra Makeup at 4:00 a.m.

    3. Sehra Makeup Darshan from 4:00 am to 10:00 am.

    4.  Bhasmarti at 12:00 p.m.

    5.  Bhog Aarti at 2:00 pm.

    6.  48 hours will be nirahar.

    7. Bhog Aarti will not take place on March 1 instead will take place at March 2 at 2:00 pm.

    8. On March 2, there will be divine Sehra Shringar Darshan from 4:00 am to 10:00 am.

    9. On March 4, from 4:00 pm till sleep aarti, panch mask shringar darshan will take place and with this mahashivratri festival will conclude.
