Pizza hut opens India's first all-women-operated store in Gangtok
Digital Desk: Pizza Hut, India's most popular and trusted pizza chain, has built its first all-women-operated store in Gangtok, demonstrating the company's commitment to empowering and inducting more women into the workforce and ensuring an Equal Slice for All.

Women will handle all aspects of the shop, from food preparation to customer service to day-to-day administration. To begin, the business will have a workforce of over ten women, including store managers. The majority of these female employees are new to the company, providing this a wonderful opportunity for them to begin their professional careers with a well-known company like Pizza Hut.

"2021 has been a hallmark year for Pizza Hut, with numerous firsts," said Chitra D Ram, Director Of Capability & Culture, Pizza Hut at Yum! Restaurants International. "We launched our bold new brand platform, 'Dil Khol Ke Delivering,' earlier this year to let everyone know that Pizza Hut offers the finest flavour and value, as well as the easiest access and our hallmark warm service, across all channels - Dine-in, Takeaway, and Delivery. We've also enlisted famous actor and comedian Anuradha Menon as our magnetic ambassador, making Pizza Hut one of the first few QSR businesses in India to have a female ambassador as the brand's face. Today, we're excited to start a new chapter in India by launching our first all-women store, which puts women at the centre of all we do. Best wishes to the team, and congratulations on setting an example by breaking barriers and motivating other women."

Anuradha Menon congratulated Pizza Hut "It's an honour to be affiliated with a company that not only promotes but also displays gender equality and inclusion in a powerful way. Dil Khol Ke salute to the Gangtok store's all-female power team as they embark on this daring and exciting adventure."

Yum! Brands, Pizza Hut's parent company, has also continuously established diversity and inclusion goals, including being recognised to the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for numerous years in a row.

This is for the very first time Pizza Hut will be operating India's all-women-operated store in the country.
