Digital Desk: To bring peace and harmony, one of the most important factors to consider is the direction of the pooja room. The pooja room is a place where we connect with divine power to seek blessings for the achievement of our goals. Acharya Shivani Gupta shares some tips on how to maintain peace in your pooja room. 

When placed properly, it helps to grow a strong bond with the divine. However, if it is incorrectly positioned, it might cause financial issues as well as anxiety.

In Vastu-compliant residences, the pooja room should be situated at the northeast corner. Light and neutral hues are good for the pooja room, according to Vastu. Paint the pooja room's walls white, yellow, or light blue, and position the idols to the west or east. For the construction of the mandir, marble and wood are considered auspicious. 

However, if you don't have a place in the northeast, the pooja room can be located in the North of Northeast (NNE), East of Northeast (ENE), or even East (E) directions.

Some important things to remember are:

• Avoid situating the pooja room in the east-southeast (ESE), as this can cause anxiety and disturbance. 

• Avoid situating the mandir in the southwest direction as doing pooja in this direction slows payment recoveries and hampers financial growth.

• Avoid placing a pooja room in the south of the southwest direction since it causes losses to the owners of that house. 

• Avoid situating the pooja room in the southeast corner since it can cause accidents and the fear of losing money.

• Do not place photos of deceased people in the pooja room.

• Keep garbage cans and dustbins outside.
