It is important to acknowledge our little successes with mini celebrations, and understand the pain points if we fall short of the plan.
Digital Desk: Well-begun is half-done, it is said.
The initial momentum gained through a good start goes a long way in helping us complete tasks.
So, what is a good start?
A good start constitutes planning out an agenda with a goal in sight. It refers to having a clear vision of the thing to be done. It includes accessing the knowledge about the pros and cons of the situation envisaged. For, no situation is black or white: everything in our experience is of a mixed character-in other words, grey. The thought process is to be used to go with the best option at hand and set the goal.
Then is the time to break up the goal into micro-bits of action, and set to it with perseverance, come rain or sunshine!
There have to be time slots allotted to monitor the action plan as it is afoot, introducing small corrections along the way. It is important to acknowledge our little successes with mini celebrations, and understand the pain points if we fall short of the plan. This keeps the machine of motivation well-greased so that we can march on to conquer the mounts of success, in things that we set out to do.
So, let us not dive headlong into things. But begin well. Begin thoughtfully, and keep going.
It is not only about the grand things.
Let us begin each day well. Wake up, acknowledge the ‘present’ of the present day, smile with hope and love and gratitude for all the myriad things going well, and plan the day in its outline. Let us set the to-do list for the day, and get going, happy in the privilege of living in this beautiful world, and doing and contributing to make life a tad bit better, each day, every day.
