Lifestyle Changes for an Ideal Body Weight
    Digital Desk: In this
technology-driven world, everyone is immersed in TV, laptops, and mobile
phones, and the least attention is given to maintaining good health. As a
result, the percentage of obese people in our country has increased, and almost
30% of the population is overweight. To achieve an ideal body weight, one must
follow a healthy, calorie-controlled diet and work out on a regular basis.

    Nutritionist
    Pritika Bedi, Founder of
Healthsake, shares five lifestyle changes one should follow to achieve an ideal
    body weight.

    Eating Healthy

    There
are several diet programmes out there that may work for us, such as the paleo
or keto diets, but eating healthy comes down to lowering our calorie intake and
including healthy items in our meals such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains,
low-fat dairy, lean meats, fish, legumes, and nuts. Reducing the intake of
processed foods as much as possible and replacing them with whole foods is
important for a healthy body. We should avoid overeating. This does not mean we
should eliminate all of our favourite foods from our diet; rather, it
emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy balance.

    Exercising Regularly

    Exercising
at least five days a week for 30 to 45 minutes is very important. Swimming,
cycling, stair climbing, walking, jogging, running, yoga, strength training,
pilates, and other activities that one enjoys can be done.

    Having enough sleep

    Getting
8 hours of sleep is a must as it allows our bodies to recover from the day’s
activities. We should make sure we get enough sleep daily. This allows us to be
more active, work efficiently, and give our best.

    Being Positive

    A
positive attitude and self-care are essential to staying healthy and
maintaining a healthy weight. A combination of a good mindset and healthy
habits is crucial for good physical and mental health. Problems will come, but
dealing with them with a positive outlook is the key to a happy life.

    Changing perspective

    If
we aim to lose weight in the long term, it is not enough to consume healthy
foods and exercise for a few weeks or months. These practises must be adopted
as a way of life. It should become our habit. Keeping a check on our eating
habits and following an organized daily routine is the first step in changing
    our lifestyle, positivel
