    2 Army jawans injured in gunfight with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri

    Digital Desk: Two Army personnel were hurt during a gunbattle with militants in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said on Tuesday.

    Following a cordon and search operation in a woodland region of the district on Monday evening, an encounter between security officers and terrorists occurred, they said.

    Receiving information of suspicious movement, a joint team of the army and Jammu and Kashmir Police roped off the Broh and Soom forest belts in the Kalakote area on Monday.

    The retaliatory fire was shot when the terrorists fired at the troops in an effort to break the cordon, according to officials.




    A senior police official informed news agency PTI that two soldiers suffered injuries during the gunfight. They have been hospitalised and their condition is stable, he said.

    According to them, two terrorists are thought to be within the cordoned-off area. They also stated that reinforcements have been brought in to close off any potential escape routes.

    Using technology, the combined operation has been initiated in the general Kalakote area, according to a defence official. He stated that there was now a serious operation going on.

    A defence spokesperson stated that the combined operation was started in the general Kalakote area and that technology is being deployed to track the terrorists. A significant operation is currently under process, he added.
