    Digital Desk: As many as two people died and three others lost their eyesight in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on Sunday after reportedly taking counterfeit spirits, officials claimed, in a near repetition of the horrible events of April this year.

    Umesh Shah and Dharmendra Ram were recognized as the victims by the police. Police said that after learning of the probable fake liquor fatalities, a team was dispatched to the scene. Two people were reportedly held by the police in connection to the alleged bogus alcohol fatalities, as reported by the police.

    Speaking with reporters, Muzaffarpur SP Abhishek Dixit said: "We learned that two persons died away after their health unexpectedly deteriorated. They had drunk country-made liquor, according to a preliminary investigation. Two people have been taken into custody about these fatalities." 

    Earlier, 27 people were killed by bogus liquor in Motihari, Bihar.
