Guwahati/ 9th April’2018 (Prag News Desk):
Two security personals were killed and five others injured in a gun battle that rocked the forest area of Bijapur, Chhattisgarh early Monday morning when fires were exchanged between Security personals and Maoists hiding in the forest area.
The security personals were Central Reserve Police Force personal stationed at the forested area after they got a tip off a Maoist group hiding in the forest. The Maoists indiscriminately opened fire at the security personals belonging to CRPF’s 85 battalion who might have got no inkling that they were being watched closely and a possible attack was on its way.
Since 2005, around 47 security personals have been killed in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist-affected Bastar region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the attacks and is scheduled to visit the area around April 14, 2018.
