New Delhi: After a new case has been reported in Delhi, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India is now 30. A 57-year-old man with a travel history to Iran has tested positive for COVID-19. He has been quarantined at Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. His wife and son have also been put in isolation at MMG District Hospital Ghaziabad.
The re-confirmation tests of 23 more people are also awaited whose initial tests have shown the presence of the virus. Samples from the 23 individuals have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for final confirmation.
The health ministry said that in addition to COVID-19 cases related to travelling, community transmission cases have also started to emerge. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government is working intensively to ensure meaningful measure. She further added that different ministries are working to deal with any impact of Covid-19.
