30 students vaccinated for COVID-19 with single syringe in MP, Probe on
Noticing that all the children were vaccinated with the same syringe the parents sparked questions.

Digital Desk: As many as 30 students were allegedly vaccinated against COVID-19 with a single syringe at a school in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday during a COVID vaccination camp at a school named Public Higher Secondary School in Sagar city.

Later, noticing that the children were being vaccinated with a single syringe, the parents raised questions.

Meanwhile, speaking over the incident, CMHO DK Goswami stated that they have received a complaint regarding the same and a probe has been initiated. He also ensured that strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the matter.

ANM Jitendra Rai, who was assigned the duty to administer the COVID vaccination to the children, gave clarification on the incident, claiming that just one syringe was issued by the authorities and he was instructed by the "head of department" to vaccinate all the children with it.

"They only provided me one syringe, and I was instructed to use it to administer the shots. That’s why I gave vaccines to 30 children from a single syringe."

The Sagar district administration filed a first information report against Jitendra for negligence and blatantly violating the "one needle, one syringe, one-time" pledge of the Central government.

It may be mentioned that a departmental inquiry has been initiated against Dr Rakesh Roshan, the District Immunization Officer who was in charge of sending the vaccine and the other required materials.
