    recent government data, India recorded an average of 79 murder cases per day in
    2019. According to data compiled by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a
    total of 28,918 murder cases were registered in 2019, representing a 0.3% decrease
    from 2018 (29,017 cases).

    In 2019, the country
    also saw a 0.7% decrease in cases of kidnapping. According to the data,
    1,05,037 such cases with 1,08,025 victims were registered in 2019, a decrease
    from 1,05,734 cases in 2018.

    female kidnapping victims. According to the data, 71,264 (15,894 male and
    55,370 female) victims were children, while 36,761 (7,210 male and 29,551
    female) victims were adults.

    73,501 women) were found in 2019, with 95,551 rescued alive.



    In 2019, 2,260 cases of
    human trafficking were reported, a 0.8% decrease from the previous year's total
    of 2,278 cases. According to the data, a total of 6,616 victims were reported
    to be trafficked, including 2,914 children and

    traffickers. According to the NCRB, 5,128 people were arrested in 2,260 cases
    of human trafficking.



    The NCRB, which reports

    country.
