Angry Telangana farmers perform mock funeral of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy
The Telangana government has reportedly completed the third and final phase of the crop loan waiver program, with an allocation of Rs 5,644.24 crore, and a total of Rs 17,000 crore has been disbursed under the scheme.

Digital Desk: Several farmers in Telangana on Saturday protested, accusing the Congress government of failing to fulfill its Crop Loan Waiver promises. In a demonstration of their frustration, the farmers staged a mock funeral procession for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, parading an effigy of him through the streets of a village in Thalamadugu Mandal. Chanting "CM down down," the protesters struck the effigy with slippers, leading to a stampede-like situation as police intervened to control the demonstration.

The farmers, burdened by mounting debts, rallied to demand urgent action from the government, highlighting the severe financial strain they are under. They criticized the government's inaction, which they claim has left them struggling with unpaid loans.

In response, former Telangana Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao announced that the party will begin collecting data on the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme from all constituencies in the state. KTR emphasized that the BRS will push for the ruling Congress government to ensure that every farmer receives their loan waiver.
