Rare occurrence: Baby born with 26 fingers in Rajasthan, family calls her incarnation of goddess
The baby's family considers that the baby is an incarnation of the goddess Dholagarh Devi.

Digital Desk: In Rajasthan's Bharatpur, a baby girl was born with as many as 26 fingers, and her family termed her an "incarnation of goddess." She was born with seven fingers in each hand and six toes in each leg.

The baby's family considers that she is an incarnation of the goddess Dholagarh Devi.

Doctors have called it a genetic abnormality, though. Although having 26 fingers is normal, the condition is extremely rare.

Sarju Devi, the mother of the newborn daughter, is a 25-year-old lady who was 8 months pregnant at the time of delivery.

"Having 26 fingers is a genetic anomaly, but there is no harm in having them. The girl is absolutely healthy," said Dr. BS Soni.

The mother's brother stated that the family is thrilled with the baby's arrival and believes she is an incarnation of Dholagarh devi. "We believe that the kid my sister just gave birth to, who has 26 fingers, is an incarnation of Dholagarh Devi. We are overjoyed," he said.

Gopal Bhattacharya, the baby's father, works as a head constable for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
