Digital Desk: The Amarnath Yatra was momentarily halted on Friday due to severe weather in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Priests performed customary rituals at the holy Amarnath cave, even as pilgrims were prevented from advancing to the hallowed shine owing to severe weather on Friday when the Amarnath Yatra was suspended from both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
As part of the morning aarti, the priests sang hymns while standing amidst the ice in the Jammu and Kashmir cave. Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has produced a video of the shrine's rituals. The Board shared the video on social media so that pilgrims who were stranded on their route may observe the rites.
The Amarnatha Yatra began on July 1, and over 67,566 pilgrims visited the cave over the last five days. During their journey, pilgrims are aided by state agencies and civil departments by providing all required facilities and necessities.
According to the shrine Board, police, health, labour, fire, education, and animal husbandry personnel have been dispatched to investigate the pilgrims' arrangements.
The Shri Amarnath Yatra, which will last 62 days, will conclude on August 31, 2023.
