Digital Desk: A bomb blast was reported in Sasaram in Bihar's Rohtas district on Saturday. Five people were injured in the blast and were taken to the Banaras Hindu University Hospital. The reason for the blast is still unknown, and police are looking into every conceivable angle.

"It has been found that six people were injured while handling illegal explosives at a private property in Rohtas; a team of forensic experts is undertaking an inquiry at the spot. Two people were detained," Rohtas Police informed.

According to the Bihar Police, after receiving information about the explosion, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team arrived on the scene to investigate the matter.

"The explosion was reported at a shanty, and a scooty was recovered from the scene. It doesn't seem to be a communal incident at first glance, "the police said,as quoted by ANI.

The police, Special Task Force (STF), and Para Military forces marched in Sasaram on Saturday.

The explosion occurred a day after communal clashes erupted in the city on the occasion of Ram Navami.

The local administration in Sasaram city imposed Section 144 on Friday after clashes erupted between two groups during the Ram Navami procession. The authorities claim that individuals used stone-throwing tactics as well as vandalized multiple vehicles and roadside stalls. Police arrived on the scene as soon as they received the information of the clash to control the situation.

Similar incidents of violence have been reported in Biharsharif. So far, the Bihar police have arrested 45 individuals for arson, violence, and clashes in Nalanda and Sasaram during Ram Navami. The police department said on Twitter that the situation in Nalanda's Biharsharif and Rohtas' Sasaram is fully under control.

Following the clash between the two groups, a large police force has been deployed in Nalanda.

"Two FIRs have been filed in Nalanda and Rohtas, and 27 and 18 people have been arrested respectively after identifying anti-social elements," the police said.

"The Ram Navami procession has ended in Bihar Sharif and Sasaram. Both locations have a sufficient number of police officers and a magistrate's deputation. Senior officials have set up camp nearby. Social media sites are being watched," police added.
