    Delhi BJP’s ‘chakka jam’ against AAP Government, traffic comes to a halt

    Digital Desk: Delhi’s BJP bastion is staging a massive ‘Chakka Jam’ protest against the AAP government’s new excise policy. Multiple locations reported of heavy traffic jam, road blocks as BJP members came out on the streets to protest.





    Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta led the ‘chakka jam’ protest near the Akshardham temple where the traffic was reported to be huge.

    In its justification of holding the protest while commuters were facing a harrowing situation on Monday morning, BJP leader Adesh Gupta told reporters, “Delhi government is opening liquor shops illegally across the city under its new excise policy. Shops are being opened near residential and religious places. Our protest will continue until the new liquor policy is rolled back.”





    Commuters stuck in the traffic complained of massive discommode as many couldn’t reach their workplaces on time.





    On being asked about commuters facing massive inconvenience due to the traffic, Gupta claimed that it is a public movement and that the public is ready to bear with it in order to get rid of the new excise policy of the AAP government (Aam Aadmi Party).





    The ‘Chakka Jam’ was witnessed even in Car Bazar area, Vikas Marg, Dayaram Chowk and Civil Lines.

    The protesters were seen sloganeering against the city government.





    Protesters however made repeated announcement of all emergency services be allowed to move and said that no harm should be caused to public property.
