    Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Tests Positive for Covid-19

    New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal tests positive for covid-19 with mild symptoms on Tuesday (January 4).





    Announcing it, Kejriwal tweeted, “I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch with me in last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested.”





    Notably, on Monday, Kejriwal was in Uttarakhand to campaign in the state’s forthcoming assembly election.

    During the rally, Kejriwal promised to pay Rs 1 crore to the next of kin of security personnel killed in the line of duty as “Samman Rashi” if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) come to power.





    On Monday, Delhi reported an increasing positive rate, with 4,099 new cases registered in only 24 hours.





    According to an official release, the positive rate in Delhi is 6.46 per cent. Approximately 6,288 covid-19 patients and suspected cases are being treated at home.





    On Monday, Health Minister Satyendar Jain told that the newest genome sequencing study revealed that Omicron was discovered in 81% of the samples analyzed. The new variant Omicron is to blame for the rise in coronavirus cases in the national capital.
