The Delhi Police informed the Apex Court of the FIR as it was hearing a petition filed by the top women wrestlers accusing Brij Bhushan of sexually assaulting them.

Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court on Friday that it would file an FIR against wrestling body president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh in connection with the ongoing protests by the top wrestlers in the country.
The Delhi Police informed the Apex Court of the FIR as it was hearing a petition filed by the top women wrestlers accusing Brij Bhushan of
sexually assaulting them. The Delhi Police notified the Supreme Court on April 26 that they had to launch a preliminary investigation into the allegations before they could file an FIR against the accused.
The court then instructed the Commissioner of Police to assess the complainant's perception of a threat following the submission of evidence by petitioners alleging a risk to a minor complainant's safety. In addition, the court allowed the CP, Delhi to determine whether the six other wrestlers who reported Singh to the police on April 21 presented a threat.
Speaking on behalf of the petitioner, Kapil Sibal said, "We were concerned on two grounds - security and safety and the second is there are 40 cases against him." Brij Bhushan Singh has allegedly assaulted women twice in the past few months.
In January of this year, the wrestlers staged a protest that was put to an end when the authorities decided to investigate the claims made against Brij Bhushan. When the wrestlers returned to Delhi's Jantar Mantar in April to demand Brij Bhushan's punishment, they alleged that none of the promises had been kept.
Kaiserganj representative Brij Bhushan Singh rebutted all of the charges and stood his stand. In a video, he said, "Friends, the day I consider what I got or lost, feel as though I no longer have the strength to fight; the day I feel helpless, I would wish death as I won't be living a life like that. I would prefer to die and be embraced by death than live such a life.
