'Eating mangoes, sweets in jail to make grounds for...': ED opposes CM Arvind Kejriwal's request
A report containing Kejriwal's food chart was directed to be filed by the Tihar jail officials after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented its claim before Kaveri Baweja

Digital Desk: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in an excise scam case, is eating food high in sugar like mangoes and sweets every day despite having type 2 diabetes to create grounds for medical bail, the ED claimed before a court in Delhi on Thursday.

A report containing Kejriwal's food chart was directed to be filed by the Tihar jail officials after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented its claim before Kaveri Baweja, the special court handling CBI and ED matters. Amid fluctuations in his blood sugar levels, Kejriwal has asked the court to request permission to visit his usual physician by video conference.

The judge gave the concerned authorities instructions to provide the report by tomorrow, when the court is probably going to reopen the case. "Despite having type 2 diabetes, Arvind Kejriwal consumes a lot of sugar-filled meals. He regularly eats "aloo poori or mango sweets. The This is being done to make grounds for medical bail," the ED told the court.
