Harnaaz Sandhu Becomes Emotional as She Takes Her Final Walk as Miss Universe: Watch the video
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she blew kisses in the air, folded her hands in Namaste, and waved to the audience.

Digital Desk: In her final walk before announcing R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States as the new Miss Universe, outgoing Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu seemed sad. While making her final walk on stage as the current Miss Universe, Ms. Sandhu tried hard to control her tears. The pageant contestants cheered enthusiastically as the diva, who was dressed in a magnificent black gown, walked on the great platform. Digitally printed on the back of the beautiful gown she wore was Sushmita Sen's 1994 pageant victory.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she blew kisses in the air, folded her hands in Namaste, and waved to the audience.

The Miss Universe official account shared a video of the touching moment on Twitter.''Hold back tears as @HarnaazKaur takes the stage one last time as Miss Universe!'' reads the caption.

As she took the stage, a brief voiceover began to play. "When I first took the stage, I was 17 years old, and since then, my aim has been to become Miss Universe. I've been given the opportunity to use a megaphone on a world stage to urge world leaders to continue the conversation about menstruation equity." She also expressed her gratitude to the Miss Universe Organization for assisting her in speaking out.

Harnaz Sandhu stated in a letter to the 2022 winner of Miss Universe, "Never forget to make the most of this year because you never know what future will bring. Godspeed, universe."

The winner of Miss Universe 2022 is R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States. Amanda Dudamel of Venezuela and Andreina Martinez of the Dominican Republic are the runners-up.

Earlier, Harnaaz Sandhu received a heartfelt letter from Chakrapong Anne Chakrajutathib, the founder of the Miss Universe Organization, via Instagram.

She shared a picture with Ms Sandhu and wrote, "Today we showed the whole world the New Universe Crown 'Force for Good' and tomorrow is your last day of your reign, my sis Harnaaz Sandhu. I love you from the bottom of my heart. You are just 22 years old but very strong, independent, confident and of course gracefully beautiful. You made history to the world and we will always remember you my love.''

After nearly two decades, Harnaaz Sandhu regained India's Miss Universe crown in 2021. Only two Indians, actresses Sushmita Sen (1994) and Lara Dutta (2000) had previously won the Miss Universe title before Harnaaz Sandhu.
