Digital Desk: The Gurugram government imposed Section 144 in the Nuh district of Haryana on Monday following a violent clash between two communities.
Additionally, a mob reportedly sealed Gurugram's borders with Nuh after setting a car on fire in the Sohna area.
It became more tense in the surrounding area on Monday afternoon as stones were thrown and vehicles were set on fire during a religious procession in Nuh.
Nuh district administration has also imposed Section-144 to control the situation.
The Haryana government has suspended mobile internet service in Nuh. The directive was issued to control the spread of misleading information and rumours on social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
However, following a conflict between the two groups on Monday in Nuh, the police said that two home guards were shot dead and about a dozen policemen were injured.
Due to the conflicts, all educational institutions in Gurugram, including schools, colleges, and coaching centres remained close on Tuesday in light of the clashes, the district Information and Public Relations officer of Gurugram said on Monday.
Nishant Kumar Yadav, the deputy commissioner of Gurugram, stated: "Anyone found propagating false information and rumours through social media platforms would be punished. So avoid spreading false information."
"These orders have gone into effect in the district immediately and will do so until further notice. Under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, anyone who disobeys the given orders shall face consequences," he added.
Following the incident in Nuh, police earlier fired rounds in the air to disperse the crowd.
To maintain peace and order, more forces from Faridabad, Rewari, Gurugram, and Palwal have been stationed in Nuh. Additionally, officials have instructed residents to stay in their homes.
Following the incident, police conducted a flag march.
