Digital Desk: The deadline for online entries for the first-ever Best Web Series (OTT) award has been extended by the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry from August 25 to 6 p.m. on September 4.
By September 12, 2023, the series' hardcopy can be submitted. The following working day shall be regarded as the last day for application reception if the event date (September 12) is declared a holiday.
The I&B Ministry decided to extend the deadline for submissions to allow the greatest number of Web Series to compete for the award, which seeks to recognise the creative prowess of the OTT platform, which has expanded greatly over the past two years.
The Best Web Series will be picked by an esteemed panel made up of figures from the entertainment sector, and the winner will receive certificates and a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The web series must be an original work that was either commissioned or produced to be eligible for the award. It must also be an original production that was shot in any Indian language. Furthermore, the series ought to have been co-produced, licenced, or bought specifically for OTT distribution.
In addition, all episodes of the entry (web series/season) must have been released on an OTT platform between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022, to be eligible for the prize.
More information on the awards' eligibility can be found on the websites of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and IFFI.
