Mild to moderate, widespread to widely dispersed rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are likely throughout East India over the next few days.
Digital Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to last for the next two days in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, and over northeast India.
According to the IMD's bulletin, mild to moderate, widespread to widely dispersed rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are likely throughout East India over the next few days.
Additionally, isolated areas of heavy rain are possible, especially on Saturday and Sunday over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar.
"On Saturday, the weather could be similar in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. This pattern is anticipated to remain across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through September 27," according to the weather forecast organisation.
"On Saturday, West Bengal and Sikkim in the sub-Himalayan region may suffer sporadic very heavy downpours, while Bihar may also see this. On Saturday, a greater degree of intensity is anticipated, along with sporadic isolated areas of exceptionally heavy rainfall across Bihar," according to the IMD.
In the northeast of India, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya are expected to have mild to moderate widespread rainfall and thunderstorm activity on Sunday. There is a possibility of isolated, heavy downpours on Saturday, especially in Meghalaya, west Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Light to moderate widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are predicted for Central India.
"East Madhya Pradesh may encounter this on Sunday, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha on the same day, and Chhattisgarh until September 25. Saturday may bring isolated very heavy downpours to east Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh," according to the IMD.
Light to moderate rain is predicted for most of South India on Saturday, with isolated heavy downpours possible in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema.
A light to moderate amount of scattered to widespread rain, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy falls are expected across Northwest India on Saturday, primarily in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.
Additionally, West India is predicted to see isolated heavy rainfall on Saturday, especially in the Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada. There will likely be isolated mild to moderate widespread to widespread thunderstorms and lightning.
Lastly, throughout various regions of the nation over the next five days, scattered light to moderate rainfall is predicted.
