Digital Desk: The Opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A alliance is set to hold its first coordination committee meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Reports confirm that the 14-member committee will assemble at the residence of NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) chief Sharad Pawar to strategize and plan future initiatives, with a primary focus on seat allocation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The coordination committee, comprising prominent leaders from various opposition parties across India, aims to streamline the alliance's objectives and coordinate their efforts effectively in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The committee includes influential figures such as Sharad Pawar (NCP), KC Venugopal (Congress), Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), TR Baalu (DMK), Hemant Soren (JMM), Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena-UBT), Tejashwi Yadav (RJD), Raghav Chadha (AAP), Javed Ali Khan (Samajwadi Party), Lalan Singh (JD(U)), D Raja (CPI), Omar Abdullah (National Conference), Mehbooba Mufti (PDP), and a leader representing CPI-M.

One of the pivotal agendas of the upcoming meeting is to finalize the crucial seat-sharing arrangements among the alliance members. Earlier this month, the I.N.D.I.A alliance concluded its third meeting in Mumbai, where it collectively resolved to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in unison. The alliance expressed its commitment to finalize seat-sharing arrangements swiftly by fostering a spirit of cooperation.

In a joint resolution, the alliance stated, "We, the I.N.D.I.A parties, hereby resolve to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections together as far as possible. Seat-sharing arrangements in different states will be initiated immediately and concluded at the earliest in a collaborative spirit of give-and-take."

The I.N.D.I.A alliance was formed by 28 Opposition parties with the primary objective of presenting a united front against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Their theme for the elections, "Judega Bharat, Jeetega India" (India will unite, India will win), underscores their determination to work collectively to bring about change.

The alliance's journey began with its first meeting in Patna on June 23, followed by the second meeting in Bengaluru on July 17-18. The third and most recent meeting took place in Mumbai from August 31 to September 1. According to reliable sources, the alliance is poised to continue its deliberations in Delhi, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to shaping India's political landscape.
