    India Reports 5,880 Fresh Covid Cases in last 24 Hours

    Digital Desk: Amid a spurt in Covid-19 cases in the last few days, India reported as many as 5,880 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours on Monday, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. (MoHFW).

    According to a health ministry announcement, the number of active cases in the country has risen to 35,199. Out of 85,076 tests performed over that time period, new instances of Covid-19 were discovered. The cumulative Covid-19 tests conducted in India rose to 92.28 crores.

    Furthermore, the number of active cases was 0.08 percent. The daily positivity rate increased to 6.91%, while the weekly positivity rate increased to 3.67%.

    Meanwhile, 3,481 recoveries were reported in India in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries in the country since the pandemic's inception to 4,41,96,318. The current recovery rate is 98.73 percent.

    In the previous 24 hours, however, at least 12 deaths have been reported in the country as a result of Covid-19-related reasons. This brings the overall number of deaths caused by the virus in India since the outbreak's inception to 5,30,979.

    In the previous 24 hours, another 205 Covid-19 vaccination needles were provided across India. This brings the total number of vaccine shots provided as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign to 220.66 crores. 95.21 crore of these vaccines were second doses, and another 22.87 crore were precautionary doses.




    It should be noticed that, of all Indian states, Kerala had the greatest change in daily Covid-19 instances. In the last 24 hours, Kerala reported 859 new instances of the virus. Haryana ranked in second with 283 new instances reported within that time period, while Delhi finished in third with 228 new cases reported.

    As the country experiences a surge in Covid-19 instances, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, and Tripura were among the states that did not record any new cases, while Arunachal Pradesh reported one and Assam reported two.
