Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir condemned the terrorist attack and announced ex-gratia to the victims' families.
Digital Desk: A Dhangri IED explosion in Rajouri, Jammu, claimed the life of a child and injured five others. The explosion took place at the location where four persons were killed in a terrorism-related strike yesterday evening.
Mukesh Singh, additional director general of police stated, "A blast occurred not far from the residence of the initial shooting event. Five people are hurt. One youngster died as a result of their wounds. another important. The media is asked to exercise caution. Another alleged IED has been seen, and it is being investigated. Self with div com and IG CRPF reaching the spot."
After a suspected terror attack last evening which left four civilians killed and six injured, there has now been a second terror strike in the village in less than 12 hours.
According to eyewitnesses, the shooters arrived at the scene in the vehicle and opened fire randomly before escaping. The deceased were identified as Deepak Kumar, Satish Kumar, Pritam Lal, and Shiv Pal.
Pawan Kumar, Rohit Pandit, Saroj Bala, Sushil Kumar, Shub Sharma, and Urvashi Sharma were among those injured.
Witnesses said that armed people arrived in a car and started shooting before fleeing the scene.
The shooting had occurred days after an incident that had happened on December 28 at Sidhra, a village outside of Jammu. Four terrorists had been killed by security personnel, who claimed that this had prevented a terror strike. They also had seven AK assault weapons, one M4 rifle, three pistols, and a tonne of ammunition taken from them.
Jammu and Kashmir's lieutenant governor, Manoj Sinha, condemned the terrorist attack and extended gratitude to the victims' families.
“An ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lahks and a Govt job would be given to the next of kin of each of those civilians martyred in the dastardly attack. Seriously injured would be given Rs.1 lakh. Officials have been directed to ensure the best treatment to injured”, the L-G's office tweeted.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the tragedy and attacked the BJP for the killings.“Condemn this cowardly act & condolences to their families. Despite being under BJP rule & its bogus claims of ending militancy, violence continues unabated. Had J&K had its own elected government, the same media would have hauled them over the coals”, the People's Democratic Party chief tweeted.
