Digital Desk: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the leader of the banned separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) operating from Canada, has once again issued a threat to India. In a video message, Pannun warned India of a potential Hamas-like attack if the country continues to occupy Punjab.
In the video, Pannun can be heard saying, "Modi, learn from the Palestine-Israel conflict. People under occupation from Punjab to Palestine will react, and violence begets violence. If India is going to keep occupying Punjab, there will be a reaction."
This threat comes mere days after Pannun had previously warned of a terror attack during the ICC World Cup 2023 and an explosion at the Narendra Modi stadium in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. The Gujarat Police had filed an FIR against Pannun in response to these claims.
In September, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) confiscated properties owned by Pannun in Chandigarh and Amritsar under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The probe agency seized 46 kanals of agricultural land belonging to Pannun in connection with a terror case registered in 2020.
Security agencies in India are taking these threats seriously, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and security of the region.
