Digital Desk: The post-mortem report of the junior doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has revealed shocking details. Conducted between 6:10 pm and 7:10 pm on 9 August, the report identified 16 external and nine internal injuries on the victim's body.
The report states that the victim died due to "manual strangulation associated with smothering," confirming that the death was "homicidal" in nature. Further examination provided "medical evidence of forceful penetration/insertion in her genitalia," strongly indicating a sexual assault.

Internally, the victim suffered from injuries in the neck, scalp, and other parts of the body. The report noted that "all injuries are ante-mortem (before death)," indicating they were inflicted while the victim was still alive.
The post-mortem was conducted by a team of medical experts, including Professor Apurba Biswas, Associate Professor Rina Das, and Assistant Professor Molly Banerjee. Initially investigated by the Kolkata Police, the case has been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following criticisms of the initial probe.
