Lata Ji has always been one of my favorite popular singers, and I consider myself fortunate to have had such a long friendship with her "In a poignant statement, Advani reflected on their long friendship.

    Meanwhile, as a gesture of respect for the Bharat Ratna vocalist, the Centre has decided to hold a state funeral and observe two days of national mourning. The Union government has also decided to observe two days of state mourning from Sunday (February 6) to Monday (February 7) as a gesture of respect, according to officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (February 7).

    The National Flag will be flown at half-mast throughout India on both days of State Mourning, and there will be no official entertainment. A state funeral has also been planned for her by the Maharashtra government.

    Melody Queen of India, who was also a producer and composer for Marathi films, and was awarded the highest civilian accolades of both India and France, died on Sunday morning at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where she had been taken due to Covid-related difficulties on January 11, 2022.
