    Digital Desk: At least 25 people died after a bus carrying 33 passengers burst into flames on the Samruddhi Mahamarg expressway in Maharashtra's Buldhana. Deputy SP Baburao Mahamuni stated that the injured were sent to the Buldhana Civil Hospital.


    The incident happened at around 2 a.m. on Saturday when a private travels bus heading from Nagpur to Pune collided with a divider near Sindkhedraja in Buldhana district, police said.


    Buldhana SP Sunil Kadasne said that according to preliminary information, a bus tyre burst, and the vehicle hit a pole, collide with a divider, then catch fire. 25 of the bus's 33 passengers were burned to death.


    The driver of the bus, who survived the incident, stated that the bus flipped when a tyre burst, leading to fires inside the bus, the SP said. 


    Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lahks for the next of kin of the deceased in the bus accident, according to his office. 


    Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis called the incident as "very shocking and heart-wrenching," and said his government is in contact with the district as well as the police administration, and that all possible assistance is being provided promptly.


    "The state government will bear the cost of the injured person's treatment," he stated.


    Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered his sympathies over the incident and stated that the administration is treating the injured.


    "The road accident in the Maharashtra district of Buldhana is heartbreaking. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the families of those who died in this horrific incident. The administration is providing immediate medical attention to the injured. I pray to God for his speedy recovery," Shah said in a tweet in Hindi.


    Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted, "The loss of lives in the unfortunate incident of fire in a bus on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families."


    "I pray to God that the departed souls get a place in his holy feet and the injured get speedy recovery," he added.
