    Major landslide in Kedarnath amid heavy rain; 3 dead, 16 missing
    An official reported that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were conducting relief and rescue efforts.


    Digital Desk: As many as three deaths have been reported after a landslide struck the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand on Thursday night amid rainfall. However, 16 people remain missing.

    Near the Gaurikund region, several stores were also destroyed by flooding.

    An official reported that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were conducting relief and rescue efforts.

    According to Circle Officer Vimal Rawat, periodic rock falls from the mountains and heavy rains hampered relief and rescue attempts.

    He stated that information about the missing people, including some from Nepal, was being gathered.

    According to authorities, some of those still missing include Vinod (26), Mulayam (25), Ashu (23), Priyanshu Chamola (18), Ranbir Singh (28), Amar Bohra, his wife Anita Bohra, their daughters Radhika and Pinki Bohra, and their sons Prithvi Bohra (7), Jatil (6), and Vakil (3).

    ALERT FOR WEATHER IN UTTARAKHAND

    As the weather service issued a warning of heavy rain on Friday, an orange alert was sounded in Pauri, Tehri, Rudraparayag, and Dehradun.

    For Chamoli, Nainital, Champawat, Almora, and Bageshwar, a yellow alert—which denotes moderate rainfall—was issued.
