Digital Desk: A fatal accident was averted last night after two wagons of an LPG rake derailed in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district. The incident happened when the train was being lined up for unloading inside the railway factory.

Reportedly, railway authorities arrived at the derailment scene late last night to monitor the restoration work. The report also states that the incident happened near the Bharat Petroleum depot in the Shahpura Bhitoni area of Jabalpur district.

Meanwhile, a senior railway official stated that no mainline movement was disrupted as a result of the derailment incident, and restoration work has begun in the presence of authorized authorities.

"Two wagons of an LPG rake of a goods train derailed last night while being placed for unloading. Train activity on the main line was unaffected. On the main route, train movement is usual. Restoration work began shortly after sunrise in the presence of local authorities. Siding Owner Issues Fitness Certificate," " CPRO West Central Railway told ANI.

This is not the only train accident that has been avoided in recent days. On June 7, the news agency PTI reported that a tractor crashed near the Santhaldih railway crossing in Jharkhand's Bokaro district when the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express was passing through the area. However, a major accident was avoided because the train driver applied the brakes on time.

South Eastern Railway DRM Manish Kumar told PTI, "A tractor crashed into the railway gate as it was closing at the Santhaldih railway crossing of the Bhojudih railway station in Bokaro district. However, the train's driver used the brakes, causing the train to stop and preventing a serious accident."

A recent railway tragedy in Odisha's Balasore district killed 278 people and injured 1,100 more. The accident involved the crash of three trains: the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a freight train.
