    Man ends life after harassment from online loan app

    Gopinath’s father, Mani, said that his son had asked him for help 10 days ago, and he had given him Rs 30,000.

    Digital Desk: A man from Pudupettai, Tamil Nadu, got into problems after borrowing money using the "Quick Cashapp, an internet lending service. Following what is said to have been extortion by an online loan app, Gopinath, a private company employee, reportedly committed himself. 

    Gopi was the victim of blackmail even though he was paying the interest and principal amount due. The Quick Cash app staff threatened to send his altered, lewd photographs to people in his contact list until he made additional payments. 

    Gopinath, who was depressed over the issue, was found hanging in a room on Thursday morning.

    “Miss you Amma Appa, bye. I’m leaving. Senthil Anna will take care of you. Please inform the office that I’m leaving due to cash problem. Quick Cash App has sent my pics to everyone. So I’m leaving”, read a message he had sent to his parents.

    Mani, Gopinath's father, stated that he had provided his son Rs 30,000 and that ten days prior, the boy had requested his assistance. 

    "He said he was even attempting to send the money to me last week. The deal fell through, but he was being blackmailed by sending lewd pictures to others who worked for his company. He was very embarrassed. He took yesterday's leave, and I informed him that we would file a complaint together at the Police Commissioner's office first thing tomorrow. But in the morning, Mani discovered him hanging,she claimed.

    After locating and recovering Gopinath's body, the police opened an investigation and sent the body for autopsy.
