New Delhi: Marriage between Muslims and Non-Muslims is “unfortunate” and “regretful”, said the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). Labeling such marriages as non-acceptable under the Sharia Law, AIMPLB also raised issues over girls being sent to co-educational schools.
The Board notified seven-point directives, talking about the use of mobile phones among children, saying that parents must keep a watch on their children and not admit girls in co-education schools which is ultimately leading to such marriage alliances.
Saying that such marriages are banned as per the Sharia, acting general secretary of AIMPLB, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said that parents, guardians, and representatives of mosques and madrassas across the nation must take every step to prevent inter-religion marriages.
The Maulana said that Islam does not consider marriage between a Muslim and a non-Muslim who are polytheists, as valid.
