Digital Desk: On January 7, Sri Ram Sene's Belagavi district president Ravi Kokitkar got shot and had to be hospitalised. The incident also injured Kokitkar's driver. The police have arrived at the hospital, and an investigation is beginning.
The shooting took place at Belagavi near Hindalga village. According to police, Ravi Kokitkar was travelling in a car with his driver Manoj Desurkar when they were fired upon by miscreants on a bike who were pursuing them.
According to City Police Commissioner M.B. Boralingaiah, the shooting occurred at 7.45 p.m. on January 7, and the assailants opened fire on the automobile as it paused near a speed breaker in Hindalaga village.
Sri Ram Sene founder Pramod Muthalik criticised the occurrence and urged that the CCTV cameras at the Hindalaga Central Jail be reviewed.
DCP Ravindra Gadadi and City Police Commissioner Boralingaiah paid a visit to the private hospital. As a precaution, a Karnataka Special Reserve Police (KSRP) team has been stationed near the hospital.
