Mumbai: A case has been registered against 'Koi Mil Gaya' actor Rajat Bedi for allegedly hitting a person with his car in Andheri, Mumbai, yesterday evening.
The victim, 39-year-old Rajesh Dhoot, a resident of D N Nagar, Mumbai, was hit by Rajat's car, and as per the family of Rajesh, the actor admitted him at the Cooper hospital and promised to help them with all possible help. However, as per the family, Rajat left after some time.
Reportedly, Rajesh was drunk at the time he got hit by Rajat’s car and was in an inebriated state while crossing the road. Rajat’s car hit him, resulting in injuries to the back of his head. As per reports, Rajesh is in critical condition, and a case has also been registered against the actor.
Rajesh’s wife said that “the incident occurred at 6.30 pm when my husband was returning from work and he was drunk. Actor Rajat Bedi, who was driving his car with license number MH 02 CD 4809, hit my husband when he was crossing the road. He fell, sustaining injuries to the back of his head."
Senior Inspector at D N Nagar police station Milind Kurde shared that an FIR has been registered against actor Rajat under relevant Sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act. The FIR has been registered under IPC sections 279 and 338.
The doctor of the Cooper Hospital said that Rajesh’s condition is too critical, as he sustained head injuries because of which he is in the ICU and on oxygen support. The doctor also informed me that he needs blood urgently.
The DN Nagar police reached the hospital to check on Rajesh and to catch hold of Rajat, but he left soon after Rajesh was admitted.
“The DN Nagar police visited the hospital, but they didn’t catch Bedi. If anything happens to my husband, Bedi will be responsible. He should be arrested,” the wife said.
