Digital Desk: Haryana government has issued new coronavirus curbs for five districts due to the rise in the number of Omicron cases. The threat of Omicron is flaring quickly all over India.
The new restrictions issued by the Haryana government stated that all cinema halls, sports complexes, swimming pools and entertainment parks in Gurugram, Faridabad and three other districts in Haryana would be closed from Sunday till January 12, 2022.
Moreover, the Haryana government has said that the night curfews would continue from 11 pm to 5 pm.
Similarly, except for essential and emergency services, both government and private offices are asked to operate with 50% of staff in attendance.
Shopping malls and marketplaces are allowed to function till 5 pm. Besides, bars and restaurants have been allowed to function with only 50 percent of their seating capacity.
The order said that these restrictions had been imposed due to the persistent rise in coronavirus cases in the state and the emergence of the latest Omicron variant.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will further meet up with top officials today to review the situation.

The order by the State Disaster Management Authority also stated that only those individuals who are injected with double doses would be allowed to visit marketplaces, malls, parks, religious places, and other places in the state.
Haryana recorded 26 cases of the Omicron variant on Friday. The total number of Omicron cases in the state has reached 63. Of the total cases, 23 are active while others have been discharged, stated a health bulletin yesterday. The state had brought back night curfews a week ago in the state.
Haryana and most of the nation's major states have also imposed restrictions with the rise of coronavirus cases. The upsurge in the number of positive Omicron cases is much higher than any other Covid variant.
